Suriya’s Bollywood debut with director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is reportedly shelved. The film also stars Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead alongside suriya. This marks the first direct Bollywood film for Suriya. As per the reports, the mythological film with a humungous budget of Rs 350 crore is shelved due to budgeting issues. Initially, the film was planned to be made in two parts. But now Suriya’s Bollywood debut film has been shelved due to budgeting issues.
This mythological drama was expected to portray Suriya in three roles in the film while Janhvi Kapoor played Draupadi as the female lead. With everything planned the film is going to be a Pan-Indian film with Pan-Indian actors with a good mythological genre. But as of now, the news about Suriya’s film being shelved is making headlines. But an official announcement is yet to be made by the makers.
Suriya has been in the headlines for quite some time for Kanguva. The film received rave negative reviews from fans and critics. Kanguva released on 14th November 2024 has failed to attract the audience despite the hype. It is believed that Suriya’s biggest disaster ‘Kanguva’ is the reason for Suriya’s first-ever Bollywood film halt.
With no official confirmation from the makers of Karna, there are still hopes for Suriya’s fans. He will be next seen with Trisha Krishnan in the upcoming film Suriya 45. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film’s details are under tight wraps. The actor will also be seen in tentatively titled Suriya 44.
