Tamannaah Walked Barefoot and Gave Up Meat for Odela 2

Tamannaah Walked Barefoot: Tamannaah in Odela 2 is grabbing everyone’s attention for all the right reasons. Directed by Ashok Teja and written by Sampath Nandi, the film is a supernatural horror-thriller and a sequel to Odela Railway Station. Tamannaah plays the powerful role of Shiva Shakthi, a fierce devotee of Lord Shiva, who arrives in Odela village to fight against a dangerous spirit.

Tamannaah Walked Barefoot:
In the story, Tirupati, a man who killed newly married women, is killed by his wife Radha. However, even after death, his evil spirit continues to haunt the village. That’s when Shiva Shakthi enters, determined to end his terror. This storyline adds a thrilling twist and spiritual angle to the horror genre.

What makes Odela 2 more interesting is Tamannaah’s extreme dedication. For this role, she gave up meat and became a vegetarian. She also walked barefoot throughout the shooting and appeared without makeup. Director Sampath Nandi revealed that her look was inspired by real life Shiva Shakthis. Since her skin turned red under the sun, they decided to keep her look raw and natural. Famous designer Neeta Lulla worked on her costumes making her appearance even more striking.

“We added a subtle clue at the end of Odela Railway Station, but a sequel wasn’t originally planned. Director Ashok Teja was the one who convinced me to move forward with it. Tamannaah and I had collaborated before and when I created the character Shiva Shakthi, I envisioned her in that role. During the look test, her fair skin tone didn’t match the initial vision especially after sun exposure turned her skin slightly pink. So, we chose a no makeup look for her. Renowned designer Neeta Lulla styled her appearance based on references we shared. The film’s visual effects turned out exceptionally well with around 150 artists contributing over six months. Also she turned a vegetarian and walked barefoot throughout the filming and I am stunned about her dedication,” he added.

The film’s visual effects took about six months to create with over 150 artists working behind the scenes. The first look poster and trailer created a buzz and increased expectations among the audience. Fans were excited to see Tamannaah in such a unique role, and her performance is already being praised.

Odela 2 is produced by D Madhu under Madhu Creations in collaboration with Sampath Nandi Teamworks. The movie also stars Hebah Patel, Vasishta N. Simha and Murali Sharma in important roles. Music is composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath.

After its theatrical release on April 17, the movie will stream on Amazon Prime Video. The platform has reportedly bought the digital rights for ₹18 crore making it one of the major OTT releases.
