Jana Nayagan, the next movie starring Thalapathy Vijay, is anticipated to be released in theaters on January 9, 2026. Since its announcement, the film has garnered a lot of attention because it seems to be Vijay’s last feature, and the actor plans to put his political party and goals first.

Recent rumors claim that Vijay is demanding a staggering ₹275 crore for his role in Jana Nayagan. Reports state that the makers have already paid him the full amount upfront, without offering any share in the film’s earnings. Earlier reports claimed that Thalapathy Vijay charged ₹200 crore for The Greatest of All Time (The G.O.A.T.), although the makers haven’t officially confirmed his payout. Speculation continues over whether Jana Nayagan will mark Vijay’s final film. Actress Mamitha Baiju, who co-stars with him, recently revealed that she directly asked him the same question. Vijay told her that he would decide his future in the film industry based on the outcome of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections.
