Director Vetri Maaran is also co-producing his dream project Viduthalai Part 2 with Elred Kumar under the banners RS Infotainment and Grass Root Film Company. South Indian music director Ilaiyaraaja is composing the music for the film.It is direct sequel to 2023 action thrillerViduthalai Part 1 , it is the second of a two-part adaptation of Jeyamohan’s short story Thunaivan.

Vijay Sethupathi and Manju Warrior in VetriMaaran’s Viduthalai Part 2

The action drama stars most happening pan India actor Vijay Sethupathi, Malyalam actress Manju Warrier, Bollywood actor Anurag Kashyap, Ken Karunas, Rajiv Menon, Ilavarasu, Balaji Sakthivel, Saravana Subbiah, Chetan and Munnar Ramesh reprise their role from the first film. It also marks Vijay Sethupathi and Anurag Kashyap second collaboration after mystery thriller Maharaja.

The period crime thriller follows the themes of loyalty and resistance in a politically charged setting. It tells the story of Kumaresan, who is recruited to arrest Perumal.  Zee5 will stream the film, and Kalaignar TV will have the satellite rights.According to a source the National Award winner Vetri Maaran will start working on Vaadivaasal soon after Viduthalai Part 2. 

VetriMaaran’s Viduthalai Part 2 all set to premiere at the upcoming 53rd International Film Festival Rotterdam on January 31, 2024 and is scheduled to hit the theaters worldwide on December 20, 2024across multiple languages.
