His energetic background music and chart-topping songs like Chaleya and Zinda Banda gave Hindi film a new sound. Fans hoped his Bollywood trip would begin to take off following that, especially with his upcoming partnership with SRK for King. Beyond these two efforts, though, little interest has been shown in Anirudh starring in fresh Hindi movies.
Among the main obstacles preventing Anirudh from creating more Bollywood movies, industry insiders say, are ownership and creative rights. Composers in the Tamil business such Anirudh often own part of their songs, therefore giving them artistic and financial power. However, in Bollywood, production companies and music labels – particularly T-Series and other big players – usually insist on complete ownership of music. For someone like Anirudh, who has cultivated a powerful personal brand and devoted following, this loss of freedom might not be justified.
Bollywood moreover usually divides background scoring and song creation among several artists. Conversely, South Indian music directors usually take both under their control, hence dominating the musical feel of the movie. Anirudh was permitted to do both in Jawan; however, for King, he is allegedly only in charge of the background score- likely out of consideration for Shah. Rukh Khan rather than industry support.
Another element could be financial and creative fulfillment. Reports indicate that Bollywood pays less, therefore Anirudh-among the top-paid composers in India (charging about ₹10 crore per film); might not find the trade-off appealing. In the South, he has total liberty, constant success, and tremendous fan base-things not easily duplicated in Bollywood’s tightly controlled structure.
For now, Anirudh seems to favor quality over quantity – opting for selective, interesting Hindi projects instead of pursuing mainstream Bollywood notoriety.
