Karnataka: On Friday, May 30, the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) declared that Kamal Haasan’s next movie, Thug Life, will not be released in the state since the actor refused to issue an apology for his controversial Kannada-Tamil comment. Sa Ra Govindu, a KFCC spokesperson, announced during a media appearance in Bengaluru that the Karnataka film “Thug Life,” starring Kamal Haasan, will not be released.
KFCC Official Response:
According to the KFCC official, the decision to ban “Thug Life” was made in response to their steadfast support of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike and other Kannada organizations’ demands that the movie’s release be stopped until the actor apologizes publicly.
As per the KFCC spokesperson, the decision to ban “Thug Life” was made since the actor has not yet apologized for offending Karnataka residents’ feelings.
“I have to do when there is pressure,” he remarked. Karnataka Rakshana Vedike was also present; we ought to follow their advice. They would even talk about it. Unquestionably, Kamal Hassan never uses the word “sorry” anywhere.
Kamal Haasan had already been given two days by the Film Chamber to apologize for his comments. Kamal Haasan, Trisha Krishnan, and Silambarasan TR play the main parts in Mani Ratnam’s “Thug Life.”

What Did Kamal Haasan Say?
Kamal Haasan allegedly said that “Kannada is born out of Tamil” during the audio premiere of his film in Chennai last week, sparking protests in several parts of the state.
However, Kamal Haasan refuses to say sorry. “This nation is democratic. I support justice and the rule of law. Love will always win, in my opinion. I genuinely adore Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. The only people who will detect it are those with an agenda. The actor remarked, “I’ve been threatened before. “I’ll apologize if I’m mistaken. “I won’t if I’m not,” Haasan stated.
