Suriya Shivakumar is gearing up for the worldwide grand debut of his much anticipated epic fantasy action flick Kanguva on November 14. Will Suriya epic fantasy action starrer Kanguva live up to it’s pan-India hype?

Kanguva is directed by Siva, who is known for blockbuster hit Tamil films like Vedalam , Viswasam , Vivegam, Annaatthe and Telugu hit films like Souryam, Sankham and Daruvu. The film’s promotions are on, while Suriya and his interacted with  fans and media in Delhi following the promotional event in Mumbai and have got a mass response from north fans in Delhi and Mumbai.

The upcoming action thriller not only marks Suriya’s return to the theaters after his previous theatrical release in a lead role called Etharkkum Thunindhavan in 2022 but also actor’s first pan India release. However, Suriya and Kollywood heavily rely on film’s theatrical success . Is it merely a financial benefit, or could this pave the door for mainstream cinema to enter a new era?

It is said that Suriya will be seen in 13 different looks in the film. The makeup artist Ranjith Ambady and his team took references from 2006 Hollywood action thriller film Apocalypto for designing one of Suriya’s looks for the periodic portions. For his role, the 49 year old actor reportedly shed 5 kilograms .

The film stars Suriya in dual roles, alongside Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Natarajan Subramaniam, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Azhagam Perumal, Prem Kumar, Karunas, Vaiyapuri and K. S. Ravikumar in supporting roles.

The technical crew includes Devi Sri Prasad, Vetri Palanisamy and Nishadh Yusuf, as music composer, cinematographer and editor, respectively. Hollywood technician Richard Kevin recruited to handle the editing,

According to a source both director Siva and producer Gnanavel Raja have been planning to create a sequel and Suriya has already gave green signal to it, which is yet to be confirmed by them.

Kanguva is scheduled to theatrically release on 14 November 2024 in standard and 3D formats. The upcoming action flick promises to deliver a unique cinematic experience, and the producers are confident in the film’s out.
