3 Dead in Stampede of RCB Victory Parade

RCB Victory Parade: On Wednesday, June 4, during the victory parade of the recently crowned IPL champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), a stampede broke out at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, resulting in two fatalities and three critical injuries.

On Wednesday afternoon, RCB arrived in the Garden City to a thunderous reception from eager supporters who had gathered along the streets to see the star-studded team. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar met the Rajat Patidar-led party at the airport. Cheering supporters gathered on both sides of the road to welcome the victorious team as they made their way to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s office at Vidhana Soudha.

A total of 27 patients have been admitted to hospitals, with 11 deaths already recorded. Bowring Hospital has 19 patients, with seven deaths recorded, while Vaidehi Hospital on Mallya Road has eight patients and four deaths recorded. Authorities continue to closely monitor the situation while medical staff work to provide urgent care.

Government Negligence?
The tragic stampede during the RCB victory parade in Bengaluru, which claimed two lives, has sparked serious questions about the urgency behind holding the celebration immediately after the IPL win. With fans turning out in massive numbers, the lack of crowd control and planning became fatally evident. Critics argue that the government and organizers could have postponed the rally to Sunday, allowing more time to prepare security, traffic arrangements, and crowd management strategies. A weekend event might have ensured better coordination and prevented chaos, turning what should have been a moment of pride into a heartbreaking loss.
