IPL 2025 Playoffs: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed the schedule for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Playoffs. After 70 thrilling league matches full of excitement and entertainment, the playoffs will begin soon.
The first playoff match, Qualifier 1, will take place at the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh on Thursday, May 29. This game will feature the teams that finished in the top two positions during the league stage. The next day, Friday, May 30, the Eliminator match will be played at the same stadium. This match will decide which team gets another chance to reach the final.
The action will then move to Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, which is the biggest cricket stadium in the world. Qualifier 2 will happen on Sunday, June 1. The team that loses Qualifier 1 will face the winner of the Eliminator in this game. The grand final will take place on Tuesday, June 3, at the Narendra Modi Stadium, where the league will crown the champion of the 18th IPL season.
The IPL Governing Council initially chose Hyderabad and Kolkata to host the last four playoff matches. However, they changed the venues due to weather concerns and other important reasons.
In another update, the organizers shifted IPL match number 65 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) from Bengaluru to the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow because of bad weather in Bengaluru.
Starting from May 20, the organizers have also added an extra hour to all remaining league matches to improve game conditions.
With these decisions, the IPL authorities aim to ensure smooth playoffs and deliver an exciting conclusion to this highly popular cricket tournament.
