Prize Money: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the recently crowned Indian Premier League (IPL) champions, won ₹20 crore for winning the 18th league season, while Punjab Kings, the runners-up, received ₹12.5 crore. In a thrilling summit matchup held here on Tuesday, RCB defeated PBKS by six runs to win their first title, capping an 18-year wait for both the team and its talisman, Virat Kohli.
Finishers in third place. The fourth-place Gujarat Titans received ₹6.5 crore for participating in the Eliminator, while the Mumbai Indians received ₹7 crore for making it to Qualifier 2. The IPL prize money has increased dramatically over time. The winning team in the first-ever 2008 competition took home ₹4.8 crore, while the runner-up team took home ₹2.4 crore.
