Women’s World Cup 2025: India’s Prize Money Will Surprise You

Women’s World Cup Prize Money: Women’s team India has made history by winning the first-ever World Cup for women’s teams in both ODI and T20I forms. They have been chasing this dream for the past few years, and yesterday night with one match, this dream has been fulfilled.

According to Devajit Saikia, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Indian team that won the ICC Women’s World Cup would receive a monetary prize of Rs 51 crore.

How Much Prize Money did the ICC give Team India?
In contrast to Australia’s USD 1.32 million (about Rs 12 crore) three years prior, India received USD 4.48 million (around Rs 40 crore) from the ICC for winning the World Cup. The losing semifinalists each received USD 1.12 million (about Rs 10 crore), which is a significant increase from the USD 300,000 (roughly Rs 2.7 crore) in 2022. South Africa, the runner-up, received USD 2.24 million (roughly Rs 20 crore).

The prize money of 13.88 million dollars, which is nearly Rs. 123 crore, is nearly four times the given amount in the last edition, which was conducted in 2022. In the last edition, they have given 3.5 million dollars, which comes to nearly Rs. 31 crores. The most interesting part is that the women’s team has got a much higher amount compared to the Men’s cricket World Cup in 2023. For the Men’s World Cup in 2023, they have received 10 million dollars, which is nearly Rs. 89 crores.
