In 2024, IPL viewership reached 620 million on Jio Cinema and 541 million on Star Sports Network.
Industry experts predict that these bundles will increase telecom data consumption. Through this surge, the viewership will reach the number when live cricket is available on Jio Cinema and Disney Plus on Hotstar for free. According to an official involved in the conversation, these telecom partnerships will help Jio Hotstar reach a larger internet audience, especially now that it is in the paid segment. He indicated that the discussion is focused on both mobile and home broadband deals.

IPL 2025 is an important event for Jio Hotstar. Which was formed from the merger of Disney’s Star India and Reliance’s Viacom 18. The company’s target is to achieve Rs 4500 crore in advertising revenue, and it has already started trying to rope in 20 sponsors, taking advantage of IPL’s wide reach.
