Kohli – Anushka Spotted in Mumbai Airport Post Test Retirement

Kohli – Anushka: Hours after the cricketer’s announcement of his retirement from Test cricket, Virat Kohli and his actress wife were seen at the Mumbai Airport.

Kohli, the batting talisman for India, announced his retirement from Test cricket on Monday, after an incredible run in the format that saw him hailed as its savior during a period when T20 cricket was the world’s most popular sport. The 36-year-old Kohli, who acknowledged that the decision wasn’t simple, played in 123 Test matches for India, amassing 9230 runs at an average of 46.85, including 30 hundreds. After retiring from T20 Internationals last year, he will now just play in ODIs.

Virat Kohli’s Statement:
After announcing on his Instagram page, “I’m walking away with a heart full of gratitude – for the game, for the people I shared the field with, and for every single person who made me feel seen along the way,” Kohli put a stop to the endless rumors surrounding his future in the sport.

“I have worn the baggy blue in Test cricket for the first time in fourteen years. To be honest, I had no idea the path this format would lead me down. It has put me to the test, molded me, and given me lifelong lessons,” he continued.

Test Career:
The megastar scored just one hundred during his largely lackluster tour of Australia for his final Test assignment. He finishes his career far short of the 10,000-run milestone, which was once thought to be a formality.

With seven double hundreds, the most for an Indian and far more than the legendary trio of Rahul Dravid (5), Virender Sehwag (6), Sachin Tendulkar (6), and Sunil Gavaskar (4), the right-hander nevertheless leaves the game as a titan.

Virat’s Test Career Growth:

Kohli’s charisma drew fans to Test cricket during a time when T20 leagues dominated international viewership. Sir Viv Richards, often compared to Kohli, acknowledged this impact. For Kohli, playing in whites held deeply personal meaning. In his farewell message to the format, he reflected, “The quiet grind, the long days, the small moments that no one sees but that stay with you forever.” He concluded by saying, “I’ll always look back at my Test career with a smile.”
