RCB Wins after 17 Years in Chepauk, Breaks the Jinx.

It took 17 years for RCB to secure a win in the Chepauk stadium after 2008. A sense of pride and relief fills the RCB squad after they outperformed the Yellow Army in yesterday’s RCB vs CSK match.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally captured the fortress that has been troubling them for the last 17 years. By handing over CSK its biggest defeat at the Chepauk, RCB breached the untapped fortress in some style. With a spectacular win against the Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru redeemed itself from a long jinx. After 17 years, RCB won a match against CSK in the Chepauk stadium. The last time they won a game against the Yellow Army at this venue was in 2008. While RCB is relieved with the redemption, the team is positive about breaking all such hoodoos this season.

The rivalry of RCB vs CSK is intense and dates back to many years. Except for the first season in 2008, Bengaluru never defeated CSK on its home surface in Chepauk. With yesterday’s victory, Bengaluru put an end to the 17-year losing streak and reduced the ratio to 2:8.

After KKR, CSK is the second team to win the most matches at home. While Kolkata Knight Riders won 52 out of 89 games at the Eden Gardens, CSK won 51 of 72 times it played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. However, in terms of win percentage on home soil, CSK is way ahead of other franchises with a stunning 70.83 rate. KKR has a 59.42 win share. Next on the list is Mumbai Indians, which played 85 games at the Wankhede and won 51 with 33 losses.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru is on the top of the IPL points table with 4 points. Led by Rajat Patidar, RCB defeated KKR in its IPL opener and registered a much-needed win against CSK yesterday. With a brilliant performance with bat first and ball later, RCB got rid of the haunting streak and cast away the demons finally. This victory remains special to the Play Bold squad and boosts their confidence in the Tata IPL 2025.
