This season, Mohammed Siraj, who was a vital part of Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) bowling attack till the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, will be wearing a new jersey. On Tuesday, Siraj will play in his debut game for the Gujarat Titans. Siraj talked about how he felt about playing for the new squad after a long break.
In a Video released by officials of IPL Siraj said, “I got very emotional when I wore the (Gujarat Titans) jersey for the first time. Having played for seven years for RCB, suddenly wearing another jersey got me emotional, initially. However, it doesn’t feel like I have entered into a new franchise. The environment and freedom here are great for a player. And I am really excited about it.”
Talking about his experience with the new franchise, he said about the Naraendra Modi Stadium, “It is a massive ground, which gives pacers more freedom and good chances to take wickets.”
Following this, he also said, “I am feeling perfect. As a bowler, I find it to be a vast ground, and the environment is ideal. There is a lot of freedom, and it is great to have such a big ground as a fast bowler. There are plenty of chances to get a wicket. I am looking forward to this year and am very excited.”
Siraj’s Experience in Champions Trophy:
Siraj claimed to have improved his bowling and fitness during the Champions Trophy break. The pacer claimed that because he was playing for so long, he was unaware of his blunders. The most important thing, according to Siraj, was watching India ultimately win the Champions Trophy.
Upcoming Match:
The Gujarat Titans’ first IPL 2025 matchup will be against the Punjab Kings. Shreyas Iyer, Punjab’s recently selected captain, will serve as their leader.
