The Opening-game Curse Continues- For the 13th time in a row, Mumbai Indians have lost their opening game. While they tried hard to break the jinx, they failed to win against CSK last Sunday. Since 2013, Mumbai Indians have not won their campaign opener.

Most Ducks in IPL History – The PBKS batter Glenn Maxwell achieved a rather embarrassing record for most ducks in the championship history. He accomplished this unwanted record when Sai Kishore dismissed him in the GT vs PBKS match. With 19 ducks, he is followed by Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik, who got out without scoring on 18 occasions.

Most Expensive Spell – Sunrisers Hyderabad destroyed RR’s bowling unit and scored a mammoth 286, the second-highest total. They took on Jofra Archer and shattered him in all corners of the stadium. Because of this carnage, Jofra Archer conceded 76 runs in his 4 overs. He surpassed Mohit Sharma, who endured a nightmare spell of 73 runs for Gujarat Titans against DC last year.

SRH Continues Rampage – SRH scored 286, the second-highest total in its IPL 2025 opener. It was ruthless batting from Ishan Kishan, Travis Head, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Heinrich Klaasen. Interestingly, all the top three highest totals are in SRH’s name. With the kind of explosive batting lineup SRH aims a new target this year. Is 300 on the cards?
