The Indian Premier League is a batting paradise. It is undoubtedly a batter-friendly tournament. Moreover, the format, pitches, and rules of this marquee event favour batters. However, the league has witnessed a few bowlers who left their impression in the IPL. Despite the unfavourable conditions, they achieved success. Here are a few bowlers with highest wickets in their bag.
We witnessed many batters try new shots, hit the ball outside the park, and initiate explosive innings. However, we rarely see bowlers shine bright with variations in bowling. Nevertheless, some exceptional bowlers have displayed incredible talent with slower balls, yorkers, and knuckleballs. They challenged themselves, defied all the odds, and discovered success. Let’s check out the list for bowlers with highest wickets in IPL.

Yuzvendra Chahal – 205 Wickets
The Indian leg-spinner started his IPL journey in 2011 with Mumbai Indians. He went on to play for Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals. Currently, he is part of the Punjab Kings. He became the most successful bowler in the IPL with a perfect mix of adaptation and precision.

Piyush Chawla – 192 wickets
Piyush Chawla is another spin bowler on the list. A member of the inaugural IPL in the Punjab team, he had a brief stint with KKR and MI.

Dwayne Bravo – 183 wickets
Three bowlers, Dwayne Bravo, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Ravi Ashwin, have 183 wickets each. It is not easy for a foreign bowler, a fast bowler in particular, to excel on Indian pitches. However, the West Indian all-rounder enjoyed a remarkable success on the Indian soil. His brilliant bowling during the death overs made him the most sought-after bowler in tough times. He had a terrific IPL with MI and CSK as their prime bowler.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 183 wickets
Bhuvneshwar’s ability to swing the new ball has sent terrors to the opposite batters. His perfect line and length helped him to provide early breakthroughs to his teams. The consistency with which he bowled yorkers was mind-blowing. He had great seasons with SRH as its main bowler.

Ravichandran Ashwin – 183 Wickets
The Indian off-spinner is popular for his intelligence and tactics. He played for CSK, RR, and Punjab Kings. He now returned to CSK again.

Sunil Naraine – 181 Wickets
