Virat Kohli Sets New Record against CSK
A true champion prefers to compete and perform against other champion teams since tough opponents pose tough challenges that bring the best out of a player. Virat Kohli is the perfect example of this. While he has several records written in his name, King Kohli achieved another milestone. He surpassed Shikhar Dhawan to become the highest runscorer against Chennai Super Kings, the five-time IPL champion.
In the RCB vs CSK match yesterday, Virat Kohli scored a 30-ball 31 runs to reach a tally of 1084 against the Yellow Army. With this, he broke Dhawan’s 1057 against the five-time champions. It took 33 innings in 34 matches for the Indian run machine to achieve this feat. However, Shikhar reached his highest in 29 innings. Next on the list are Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik.
This milestone against a top team in the tournament validates Virat’s immense skill and ability. It takes a special power to dominate strong opponents and perform at the highest level. Pushing boundaries, testing limits, and thriving under pressure are some unique qualities that make him a champion.
Besides becoming the highest run-getter against the Chennai Super Kings, Virat also had a significant role in clinching a magnificent victory against them last night. RCB won the match against CSK in Chepauk after 17 years. The last time they won was in 2008, the inaugural edition of the IPL. What remained an unfulfilled task for RCB for a long time happened yesterday finally. Through this win, RCB finally managed to break the 17 years jinx and breached the fortress. With back-to-back wins in the tournament, the team is on the top of the Tata IPL 2025 points table.
Rajat Patidar-led Bengaluru is a popular team with a massive fan following. Despite appearing in three finals, the franchise failed to grab the title. They will face GT in their next encounter on Wednesday, 2 April.
