India took the bold step of testing drivers using AI. Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh is the front-runner in this initiative. The system uses sensors and cameras to objectively assess driving skills. This means that there is no human corruption or bias. The system will only give drivers a license if they are competent and qualified. This will increase traffic safety to the next level.
Uttar Pradesh is the first state to conduct AI-based licensed tests, and Prayagraj has pioneered the program. This see an automated testing track that uses very advanced technologies. High-definition cameras monitor all driver movements.
Sensors are used to monitor driving techniques such as braking and parking. Using AI, drivers receive fair and instantaneous assessments of their driving skills. Whatever the assessment result, every applicant assessment is uploaded to the overall transport portal.
The AI application ensures that there are no human errors in the applicant assessments. It removes systemic corruption in the licensing process by ensuring an applicant is assessed without bias. The system guarantees that only qualified applicants passed the test. The AI replaces the evaluator and reduces, if not eliminates, the risk of corruption and bias at all service centers.
Delhi, Maharashtra, and Gujarat have access to AI-based applications running on the automated tests tracks. Maruti Suzuki has collaboration in Delhi with these states.
The New Delhi Sarai Kale Khan test center we saw in June after an application process where entailing the full AI system works perfectly. Uttar Pradesh was able to inherit a proven application because of the level of volume they processed on day to day basis at their applications centres.
Maruti Suzuki cube in Uttar Pradesh automated twelve (12) tracks complete with sensors and AI algorithms. The system records accurate driving data. It conforms to Central Motor Vehicle Rules. Zones will ensure road safety standards are met.
India suffers from numerous road accidents each year. A lack of competent driving contributes highly. The AI tests will identify individuals, who have competent skills and new drivers will only pass through. This will prevent crashes and more importantly save lives.
The central government opened its doors to Uttar Pradesh’s AI model. It supports its focus on road safety. It has cleared the way for the system to move onto e-challans from here. The next level will be traffic monitoring.
Prayagraj has kicked-off the AI testing process to some extent. Lucknow, Varanasi, and Noida are up next. All the RTOs have expressed a desire to be automated by 2027. There will be no other state in India focusing on technology for licensing like Uttar Pradesh.
AI means better testing, which will provide more consistent and fair results. AI standardizes driving test qualifications across regions, ensuring fairness. It educates drivers to master skills, promoting road safety over punishing incompetence. Also, corruption will become part of India’s history.
It is about braking and parking, etc. Know the road safety regulations, as well they should know the AI process education is strict and I will be assessing applicants and there was a score of 60 points. So I encourage the applicants to be calm during their tests.
Uttar Pradesh’s driving tests provide the first AI testing in India. There are systems around the world, it will ensure that driving tests will be fair and there is identification of competence. There will be many more cities to follow suit in the near future. Drive safely with AI.
