Alexa Plus, Colour Kindle, and Fire TV Devices: Amazon’s Big Launch

Amazon just launched a smarter voice assistant. They call it Alexa Plus. This new version understands natural conversation. You no longer need to use robotic commands. It feels like talking to a real person.

A More Helpful Assistant

Alexa Plus connects to many popular services. You can book an Uber ride through voice. You can reserve a table with OpenTable. You can even buy tickets from Ticketmaster. The assistant also remembers your personal details. It can recall birthdays or Wi-Fi passwords for you.

Availability of Alexa Plus

The new Alexa comes in Echo speakers. It is also built into Fire TV devices. These products are open for pre-order now. Some models will ship in October. For now, it is only available in the US. A global rollout will happen later.

Kindle Scribe Gets Color

Amazon also revealed a new Kindle. The Kindle Scribe Colorsoft is the first with color. Previous Kindles only had black-and-white screens. Now you can highlight text in different colors. You can also sketch with colorful digital pens.

New Scribe Models and Prices

All new Scribe models have 11-inch screens. They are slimmer and lighter than before. Performance is smoother due to better chips. A redesigned model with a front light costs $499.99. The color version starts at $629.99. A budget model without a light will cost $429.99.

Smarter Kindle Software

New software features make Kindle smarter. An AI-powered notebook can search your handwritten notes. It can also create summaries for you. A future “Ask this Book” feature will answer your questions. Your notes may even sync with Alexa Plus one day.

New Fire TV Lineup

Amazon unveiled new Fire TV devices. They introduced a new Fire TV 4K Stick Select. It runs on the new Vega operating system. The company also launched three new Fire TV televisions. All these devices work with Alexa Plus.

Improved TV Features

The new Omni QLED TV is much brighter. It has more dimming zones and a faster processor. A new 4-Series TV has better sound and a brighter screen. An entry-level 2-Series starts at just $160. All new TVs include a presence sensor. This turns on the screen when you walk in.

When You Can Buy Them

The new Fire TV Stick goes on sale in mid-October. The new televisions will arrive in October or November. All devices are available for pre-order starting today.
