Apple will launch its iPhone 17 Series in the coming month and it sounds promising with many exciting new features for its users around the world. One of the biggest features is the integration of OpenAI’s new GPT-5 AI model.
Apple will integrate the GPT-5 AI model in the upcoming versions of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe 26, compatible with iPhone 17 Series. The GPT-5 AI Model is latest from OpenAI which is known to have better coding, accuracy and safety metrics than its predecessor.
Currently, Apple’s AI System, Apple Intelligence, uses ChatGPT as an optional add-on service. Siri uses it as needed for complex process-related queries like when a person cannot remember a specific photo or document. Users must enable the ChatGPT AI within Settings to have ChatGPT augment the Apple Intelligence app. This as a whole is beneficial for those of us worried of predictable responses from Siri that rely on an external AI model.
Apple Intelligence is able to assist the user with replacing, writing, wrapping, editing, proofreading, and even summarizing text. It has a Smart Reply feature where it will help you quickly respond when you are sent a new message. It can be set and use languages from around the world.
The Clean Up feature will quickly remove distracting objects from photos when possible, while the Image Playground feature will allow the user to explore the visual expression of their creativity. Finally, Genmoji will allow a user to use an image from their camera to help them create a custom emoji.
The AI’s visual intelligence will help better the experience of iPhone users and their understanding of their surroundings. The addition of ChatGPT makes the relevant AI tools accessible without switching to a different application.
The iPhone 17 Series model will launch worldwide on September 9, 2025. There will be four models: an iPhone 17, an iPhone 17 Air, an iPhone 17 Pro, and an iPhone 17 Pro Max. In India, the iPhone 17 base model will be priced at ₹89,999, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The phone will be available in 6 colors: White, Purple, Light Blue, Green, Grey, and Black.
The iPhone 17 will keep a dual rear camera system: 48MP (first lens) and 12MP (second lens) ultra-wide sensor. Apple will replace the older 12MP front camera used to take selfies with a new 24MP front camera.
Leaked information recommends Apple will not change the design significantly. The display will be a 6.3 inches with a 120Hz ProMotion screen.
Apple will use Apple’s 18 processor (also found in the iPhone 16). Apple used the Apple 18 processor for to help save on cost to include new features. The iPhone 17 will run iOS 26 which will have a liquid glass theme. Again, the phone will have a 3500mAh battery, and will come with support for a 25W MagSafe wireless charger.
Apple’s iPhone 17 will have a substantial amount of powerful hardware and the latest GPT-5 AI model. This upgrade will provide an enhanced user experience coupled with enhanced AI interaction on Apple devices.
