Apple is working on its debut Smart Glasses model, expected to be released around 2026. These specs will go head-to-head with Ray-Ban Meta. Apple is considering postponing their high-profile headset, the Vision Pro, to get this project going.
Apple will also offer several type options for frames, users will choose type of material for the handles (temples). The glasses will come in different styles and will even be a multitude of colours. What is uncertain is how it will layout all of the tech inside the specs. The smart glasses design will need to house a battery, its cameras and its chips
The smart glasses will be powered by a new Siri upgrade that will mount in 2026. You will be able to ask Siri a question and it will draw an answer from the internet. You will have either translation, music play and messaging abilities from the glasses. The AI will also remember things for you.
The glasses will utilize Visual Intelligence, which will be able to recognize plants and animals, and will identify landmarks for you. They will be able to take videos and make phone calls for you. The glasses will also verbally describe what you see in your environment to you.
A customized Apple processor will power the device, ensuring smooth performance. Note that the glasses are not standalone, as they must connect to the iPhone in order to function. This is a requirement for all the features provided by the glasses.
Apple’s Smart Glasses are about AI, not screen usage. They are experience-driven like Ray-Ban Meta glasses at a high level. Expect more news on their release and availability as we approach a future launch of 2026.
