Google has launched a fresh feature known as Search Live in India. This feature is an aspect of the AI Mode in Google Search, which introduces a whole new way of information discovery. You may soon be able to utilize your device’s camera and ask questions using voice. India is the first country to have it next to the USA.
Search Live introduces a more conversational approach to searching. You can use voice prompts directly to ask Google your question. In addition, this Search Live feature will make use of your phone’s camera. Simply point your camera at any object or location and then you can ask Google about that object, all while in real-time.
This feature is beneficial for all kinds of daily purposes. You’re having trouble with something at home? Use Search Live. You need help with your kid’s school project or homework? Use Search Live. You’re exploring a place you’ve never been before? Use Search Live. You are doing a DIY project, recipe, or anything with steps? Use Search Live.
You decide to make an iced matcha at home. You can show Google your ingredients and ask what order you should mix everything. Instead of getting a static recipe, you can get step-by-step real-time advice from Search Live. A more complex task just became a lot easier to accomplish.
Getting started with the new feature is easy. Just open up the Google app on your phone. You’ll see the new “Live” icon below the search bar. Click it, and you’ll be good to go. Google Lens can be opened as well, and select “Live”.
Google is expanding the languages supported in AI Mode. It will include seven major, recognized Indian languages. You can use Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. This will be rolling out starting next week.
Indian users are some of the heaviest consumers of multimodal search. They are also the most prominent users of voice and visual search in the world. This new feature is a very direct reflection of these usage habits and makes it even easier to get information in an even more intuitive way that feels natural.
The launch signifies an important milestone, and launching this technology makes it more accessible by bringing it to search simply. Google is cutting through the complexity of that technology and making it available to everyone on a practical, real-world basis.
