Today, Flipkart’s Big Billion Days began for everyone. A lot of excitement for iPhone discounts. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro bring a huge AOL. Then cancellations happen that shock buyers. Now, these customers say it is a scam. Social media is angry. Amazon’s rival sale distrusts customers even more.
Flipkart kicked off the event on September 23 for everyone. Plus members had early access yesterday. There was a discount on the iPhone 16 for Rs 51,999 (128GB model). There was a discount on the iPhone 16 Pro for Rs 69,999 (128GB model). These decreases tempt a lot of shoppers. Items quickly flew off the shelves.
Surprise Order Cancellations Ruin Buyer Experience
Hours after confirmation, orders disappeared. Users woke up to canceled payments. One user lost both iPhone 16 and 16 Pro in one night. No reason appeared in any notifications. Another user had three paid orders disappear in four hours. Items that shipped did not update on delivery. It is frustrating.
X users harshly criticize Flipkart. “Big Billion Days is a scam” one user tweeted. Vijay Ram shares screenshots of price moves. One price all of a sudden went from Rs 69,999 – 94,000. Nabeel Javed calls it pure cheating midnight on launch date. Moneycontrol reports widespread responses. LatestLY mentions outrage in there write up. Financial Express describes a scam as well.
The prices were advertised to lure clicks and carts. And then the customers would be let down from cancellations. For some, they perceive it as an ongoing “engagement bait” phenomenon. This time, Amazon’s Great Indian Festival is the one to compete against. Flipkart has been silent officially. There are no prepared statements to ease the angst and confusion. Buyers are demanding refunds and answers immediately.
Buyers start to process payments, only for the order to not work. The order tracking says shipped and then gets stuck. The support numbers are overloaded with calls. X threads share affair misadventures in the midnight sun. The AIMRA even highlighted the anger from retailers. Informance also clicked off cancelled bookings. The Tatva has abounded in sad booking tales.
The company needs to be totally transparent about canceled orders. It needs to issue refunds right away and money back to rehabilitate trust. They could boost stock availability for favorites. Updates on orders reduce anxiety. Competitors are watching to see what happens now. Simply, shoppers can switch platforms quickly and easily.

Check out deals before proceeding. The terms and availability can be sneaky. Use payments mechanisms responsibly over a secure connection. Check order hourly during deal times. Other platforms, such as Amazon have their deals waiting. Just keep your guard up, bad deals can happen.
The Big Billion Days went south for many, including us. I had all my iPhone dreams shattered overnight. Flipkart has to fix this to maintain brand value. Consumers value fair treatment and deserve it always.
To everyone who placed their orders for iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models via @Flipkart during the Big Billion Days Sale and have been cancelled by Flipkart now — Don’t let this thing go, please drag this nuisance company to the Consumer Forum without fail.
