Google has significantly improved its after-sales experience in India with the recent expansion of its same-day repair service across India for Pixel smartphones, Pixel Buds, and the Pixel Watch into 21 cities across India. The aim of the service enhancements is to help users solve their problems as fast as possible and give them convenient repair experiences, with little downtime of their devices.
Google’s unique same-day repair service was launched last year together with the Pixel 9 series, and only available at three main cities – Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai. Today the vailable service has growen to offer similar services in multiple Priority Service Centres in important urban market destinations such as Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Kolkata and various other important cities aimed at providing quicker repairs to a larger number of customers.
Customers can go to any of these Google Exclusive or Priority Service Centres – technician will always be available to assist and maintain anything during opening hours of 9am-5pm Monday-Sunday. Simply arrive with their device before 2pm for same-day turnaround to receive their fully repaired products the same day, there will be a prompt timed-to-submit point ensuring our repair technicians are productive and effective with completing repairs in place to return repaired products on the same day.
Further, for customers not able to physically visit a service centre, Google is extending free door-to-door delivery or mail in option allowing customers to submit their Pixel device for repairs without leaving their homes. Once repairs are successfully completed, customers will receive their product-back to them free of charge from Google.
The expanded repair service will accommodate virtually all of Google’s Pixel family, spanning the latest Pixel phones, Pixel Buds wireless earphones, and Pixel Watch smartwatch. So far, there hasn’t been indication this will open to any other Google hardware products, such as any of their Fitbit or Nest smart home products.
A per Google, the program was first introduced in March of 2023 and Google’s statistics since the start of the program indicate that it has been successfully completing repairs on same day on about 80% of all Pixel phones sent to their service centers. This is a positive reflection on the program. Google continues to lessen the burden on its customers and improve the service, including optimizing repair completion times that are convenient for customers, making the repair experience a little less tedious, and providing repairs that are made correctly, timely and reliably by a certified technician using authentic parts from the original manufacturer.
Google indicated what the next steps for its service are on the official support page of the Google Store, which has been updated with the service details and a list of locations for Exclusive and Priority Service Centres. Google is trying to give all its customers more transparency in being able to find the location of the closest repair facility and to figure out their travel time to each one of the repair facilities, with current available service.
This expansion is a strategic initiative for Google establishing a foothold on the competitive smartphone market in India by enhancing after-sales experience by providing fast and hassle-free repairs giving them hope that they can deepen their loyalty and solidify the Pixel brand for consumers in India.
