Samsung R&D Hub: With a focus on creating features unique to India that later spread to the rest of the world, Samsung’s R&D center in Bengaluru has been a significant asset to the company’s portfolio. For nearly thirty years, the Samsung R&D Institute India, Bengaluru, or SRI-B as it is more commonly known, has been at the forefront of this development.

An official from the Samsung team has discussed the four technical pillars that the SRI, Bengaluru center works on: computer vision, wireless communications, system software, and the Internet of Things. He emphasized that although Samsung wants to make Galaxy AI more accessible across devices, feature availability is solely reliant on the computing power of the hardware. He also talked about how crucial teamwork is in R&D. For example, he explained about the technology, like the audio eraser, AI wallpaper, and also auto transition on the latest Galaxy Fold 7 camera. He also emphasized UPI integration as a payment method in the Samsung wallet, which is specifically for the Indian audience.

He further said, “With a cooperative strategy, we think that all of the R&D facilities worldwide, including those in Suwon, Seoul, and Bengaluru, combine to provide significant contributions to all of our Samsung Galaxy products. For instance, we contributed to a variety of functions under the Galaxy AI umbrella for the Galaxy Fold 7 and Flip 7.”
