Jio and Airtel Announce Free Services in Key Locations

Jio Airtel Flood Relief: Heavy rains are lashing many parts of the country, with many districts recording record rainfall. Especially in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and other areas, heavy to very heavy rains are falling. Rivers, ponds and canals are overflowing. Due to this, many areas have been flooded, and people’s lives have come to a standstill. At this juncture, Jio and Airtel have come forward and taken a key decision to benefit their customers. So what is that decision?


 

Know About Jio Airtel Flood Relief

Jio and Airtel have taken a key decision to provide relief to their customers in flood-affected areas. They have come forward to provide free data and calling services to their customers. This decision has been taken to ensure that there are no disruptions in the relief efforts. These services will be available free of cost.

Reliance Jio has announced temporary relief for prepaid users in areas affected by heavy rains and floods. Jio officials said that the validity of prepaid plans in these areas will be automatically extended by 3 days. This will allow users to continue using the network services without the need for immediate recharge.

 

Jio has said that prepaid users will get 2GB of high-speed data per day and all calls will be free. With this, users can continue browsing the internet, voice calls, messaging and other digital needs without any additional cost. With this decision, users will be able to use their mobile & data services without any connectivity issues in flood-affected areas.

Airtel also made a key announcement. Bharti Airtel has announced special relief measures for its customers in areas affected by heavy rains and floods. Under these measures, the validity of prepaid customers’ plans will be automatically extended by 3 days. This measure will allow them to continue using their services without the need for immediate recharge.

 

Prepaid users will also be provided with unlimited calling and 1GB high-speed data per day. With these, services like internet browsing, social media, messaging, voice calling can be used smoothly without any additional cost. Also, postpaid and broadband users will get 3 days extra time (Grace Period) to pay their bills. This will be convenient for users who are unable to pay their bills, especially in flood-affected areas.

 

Center’s suggestion: Intra Circle Roaming Activation

The central government has issued special orders to ensure uninterrupted connectivity of users in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. All telecom operators have been directed to keep ICR (Inter Circle Roaming) services active till September 2. This decision will enable users to use the network services of another company even if their primary telecom provider is not providing service. This move will help users in providing emergency calls, data and communication services without any disruption, especially in the wake of the floods that have affected signal and connectivity in many areas.

 

The decision of the Central Government and Telecom will ensure uninterrupted connectivity for the users. People will be provided with instant communication facility without any hassle for making emergency calls. Benefits like free data, calling, bill deferment will help reduce the burden of residents in rain-affected areas.
