Smartphone manufacturers are fighting hard to win the budget 5G category. Realme and Xiaomi recently launched the Realme 15 5G and the Redmi 15 5G in India. Both phones bring fast performance, Huge batteries, supporting A.I Features, and an attractive design.

Price and Availability

The Redmi 15 5G starts at ₹14,999. This is for the smallest model with 6GB + 128GB. The 8GB + 256GB version sells at ₹16,999.
The Realme 15 5G starts higher at a price of ₹25,999 with 8GB + 128GB or ₹30,999 for the 8GB + 256GB.
So the Redmi is a clear winner if we talk about the price difference.

Display and Design

The Redmi 15 5G has a 6.9-inch FHD+ Adaptice Sync display with 144Hz refresh rate. It is also TÜV Rheinland triple-certified to reduce eye fatigue.
The Realme 15 5g has a slimmer profile and is only 7.69mm thick in the Flowing Silver Design. It has the same 144Hz refresh rate as the Redmi but does not have any certification.
So here, Redmi has a larger display while Realme gives a slimmer premium design.

 

Performance and Software

The Redmi 15 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset with an 8GB RAM pairing. It runs Xiaomi HyperOS 2 based on Android 15.

The Realme 15 5G, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300+ processor, also incorporates AI based gaming optimisations, and runs on Android 15 operating system with Realme UI skin.
Both the realme and redmi phones are solid options but the realme is slightly better in terms of gaming as the gaming performance is optimised with AI tuned performance.

 

Camera Specifications

The redmi 15 5G has a 50MP AI dual camera and an 8MP front camera with AI Sky, AI Erase, and classic film filters. The Realme 15 5G has a dual 50MP camera setup with a Sony IMX882 sensor, and a 50 MP camera on the front. It also has a 4K recording option.
The Realme offers a stronger camera set up, particularly for selfies and video creators.

 

Battery Charging and Features

The battery for both phones is identical at 7000mAh, but the Redmi only supports 33W charging while Realme offers 80W charging support.
Realme wins on charging speed, both phones are equal on battery size.

The verdict

The Redmi 15 5G is the right choice for buyers on a budget as it performs well under ₹15,000, the realme 15 5G also offers excellent value for the price increase with a solid camera, faster charging and a slimmer phone.
