Smartphone shoppers in 2025 have been treated to an abundance of selection with the Redmi 15 5G and Poco M7 Plus 5G. Both are priced just under ₹17,000 and offer features that are usually reserved for flagship phones, from huge batteries to buttery-smooth displays.

Price and Variants

The Redmi 15 5G has a base price of ₹14,999 for the 6GB + 128GB storage and goes as high as ₹16,999 for the 8GB + 256GB.
The Poco M7 Plus 5G is a bit cheaper with a starting price of ₹13,999 for the 6GB + 128GB and ₹600 cheaper at ₹14,999 for the 8GB + 256GB. Additionally, with specific bank cards, Poco is offering ₹1,000 off of the two versions.

 

Display and Design

Both phones have a 6.9-inch, Full HD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate (and a 288Hz touch sampling rate). The brightness is supported at 850 nits with TÜV Rheinland certification, so you will be assured that eye comfort is part of the technology in either phone.
As far as the designs, Poco has Aqua Blue, Chrome Silver, and Carbon Black. While Redmi offers Frosted White, Midnight Black, and Sandy Purple.

 

Performance and Software

Both devices boast their performance on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chip. Each variant offers up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
On the Poco, you can expand the RAM virtually to 16GB enabling you to multitask more effectively.
They are both running on Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0 and have a 2-year update and 4-year security patch.

 

Cameras

Both the Redmi 15 5G and Poco M7 Plus 5G cameras start with a 50MP main rear camera and 8MP front camera. The Redmi also adds some AI camera features like AI Sky, AI Erase, and AI Beauty for further customization. The Poco M7 however does include a second rear sensor for either depth or macro shots. Both devices are also capable of recording video in 1080p at 30fps.

 

Battery and Charging

Battery: Both the Redmi 15 5G and Poco M7 Plus 5G offer one massive 7,000mAh battery, making for a great long-lasting device.
Charging: Both devices support fast charging at up to 33W and reverse charging up to 18W through (USB Type-C).

 

Other Features

Both of the devices feature side-mounted fingerprint readers and an IP64 dust and splash resistance rating.

Connectivity includes the standard 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and IR Blaster for Redmi.

 

Conclusion: Which one will you buy?

For generally more AI camera features and some fancier colors, go for the Redmi 15 5G or, if you prefer a slightly lower price and the ability to expand its virtual RAM for performance, just get the Poco M7 Plus 5G. But both devices are excellent budget 5G phones – and both offer value for money in every area.
