Samsung Copies Apple? Galaxy S26 Edge Leak Sparks Controversy!

Samsung Copies Apple? Galaxy S26 Edge Leak Sparks Controversy!

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge CAD renders have leaked and they give away the perspective of the design for the premium phone. The overall form-factor looks similar to the iPhone 17 series, which is strange coming from a company known for and having pioneered consumer tech innovation.

It was also odd that the camera layout and placement look almost identical to that of the iPhone 17 Pro as well, which leads us to believe that Samsung would not have released this style unless they were copying Apple.

Design

The Samsung S26 Edge renders were first reported by OnLeaks. The visual shows a phone with a completely flat display, contrasted by rounded corners wrapping the screen of the phone’s body. There are two camera sensors and a flash situated on the back of the phone. On the right hand side of the phone, there is a power button and volume buttons. At the bottom of the phone, there appears to be a USB Type-C port and speaker.

iPhone 17

The design illustrates a distinct similarity to features visible in iPhone 17 Pro renders shown. Both shows flat screens with rounded corners, as well as the back features of the phones with the camera look identically similar. The iPhone 17 series will be released September 9, 2025. The leaks have shown the iPhone 17 models will be some of the biggest upgrades in Apple history and we expect to see huge changes for Apple this year.

Launch Schedule

The Galaxy S26 series will be released early next year and include the S26, S26 Air, and S26 Ultra models. Weirdly, there will be no Plus model but now have Edge model, which we expect the Galaxy S25 Edge to be the thinnest Samsung phone ever at 5.5mm. This phone features the Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile processor with over 200 million camera pixels which we suspect the S26 Edge will be thinner.

Hopefully Galaxy S26 Edge performance specs

We anticipate that the S26 Edge will be packaged with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display that will support the 120Hz refresh rate, so as a device from Samsung – we will expect excellent performance. The improvements to the camera. The focus on ultra-thinness. It attracts a premium user base.

Why the Copy Claims?

Samsung gets criticism for design and style. iPhone 17 leaks created comparisons. Rounded corners on flat screens. Camera modules look the same or similar. Users are questioning Samsung’s creativeness. Apple is known for beginning trends. Samsung may be copying ideas.

Questions on Innovation

Samsung improves on previous models. S25 Edge already set the standards for thinness. S26 Edge is advancing forward, well behind thinness. It pushes the limits. Copying is a value proposition. Competition will incentivize features. Look for the official launch.

What We Can Expect to See

S26 series brings excitement. The ultra model brings the strength of computer specs/an unrivaled dimension and resolution. The air has lightness/skinny. The edge brings a new thinness. Samsung is wanting to lead. Rivalry with iPhone pushes further the user experience.

Staying in The Loop

Leaked renders are amplifying the buzz and anticipation. Official details will follow soon.
