The users of Samsung are fond of their Galaxy phones. However, some older models will now lose this support, as the company has decided to end the software support for four devices. Samsung has recently ended its software support program, which affects four of its previously popular Galaxy phone models, including the Galaxy A03s, the Galaxy A52s, the Galaxy F42 5G, and the Galaxy M32 5G. These Galaxy phones will not receive any software updates moving forward.
This has a significant impact because the devices will no longer receive any security patches and will not be updated to newer versions of Android. This opens the devices up to new threats as hackers could potentially exploit previously known security vulnerabilities. Your personal information may be exposed and put at risk.
Samsung launched these four Galaxy models in 2021. Samsung made a promise to support these four devices with software updates for four years. That promise is now fulfilled, as they officially moved on in September 2025, which is their established timeline for some of their devices.
If you don’t own a device, you should think about getting an upgrade; this is particularly relevant for owners of devices such as the A03s, F42 5G or M32 5G. Using a device that is no longer supported opens you to security risk. New model generations exist that you can consider, for example, the Galaxy A07 or the Galaxy F56. The Galaxy M36 Will also be a good option. The A56 is the latest in the A5 series.
Samsung is currently pushing out its most recent software called One UI 8 which is based off of Android 16. One UI 8 has lots of new functionality, including a more robust AI capability, better customization options, and improved battery performance tuning.
Currently, the One UI 8 update is available for flagship devices, such as the Galaxy S24 models, and the Z Fold 6, and is now rolling out to mid-tier A and M series devices. The update will become available to the majority of key models, shortly.
The security of your device is important because regular software updates protect you from viruses and hackers. An outdated device is outdated and ineffective and cannot protect you against most new digital attacks. An upgrade ensures that you can maintain your online safety protections. You should also enable updated security settings for your device.
