The Samsung Galaxy M36 5G, the latest budget smartphone from the company was launched in India on June 27, 2025 and is now available for sale from July 12, during the Amazon Prime Day sale which will be held from July 12-14. This new smartphone is packed with a plethora of new features when compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy M35 5G, which makes it a decent overall smartphone based on features, performance and price (on sale discount), with added bonuses in discounts and EMI payments.

The Samsung Galaxy M36 5G comes in three variants: 6GB RAM + 128GB storage which lists on sale for Rs. 17,499, 8GB RAM + 128GB which lists for Rs. 18,999 and 8GB RAM + 256GB for Rs. 21,999. In the Prime Day sale, if you are a member a of Amazon Prime you can receive a Rs. 1,500 discount, meaning you can purchase the 6GB RAM variant at a starting price of Rs. 15,999.

Additionally, you can pay for purchase through a EMI plan starting for a jaw-dropping Rs. 848 payment plan, which makes this feature rich smartphone available to a large demographics of the public. The Galaxy M36 5G also comes in three colors: Orange Haze, Serene Green, and Velvet Black and will be available at Amazon, Samsung’s India website, and select retail stores.

The Galaxy M36 5G also features a large display with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen and a 120Hz refresh rate with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Plus, not to mention a waterdrop notch for a 13MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The M36 5G is powered by the Exynos 1380 SoC with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage expandable up to 1TB.

This phone did not have any overheating issues regarding multitasking and gaming given the particular specifications. It has OneUI 7 based on Android 15 and offers up to 6 years of upgrades and security protections which is a promise that does not exist at this price.

The rear camera has a triple lens setup with 50MP main sensor with OIS, 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro sensor. The camera is capable of 4K video recording, night mode, and has AI features in two features, Circle-to-Search and Gemini Live powered by Google Gemini. The phone also has a 5000mAh battery to support 25W fast charging.

Further features include 5G, Wi-Fi, GPS, USB Type-C and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. In short, the Galaxy M36 5G is a solid entry in the mid-range space with a thin and light design, bright and vibrant.
