SAP, the German tech giant, has officially opened its second-largest R&D hub outside Germany. The 41-acre India Innovation Park, located in Devanahalli near Bengaluru’s international airport, is set to be a key part of SAP’s global strategy.
SAP will develop the campus in multiple phases. Currently, 27 acres are operational, housing 3,200 employees. Once fully completed, the campus will accommodate up to 14,000 people. The company has approved phase two of the development, with construction scheduled to finish by mid-2028. SAP will invest over 194 million euros in the project.
Speaking at the inauguration, Sindhu Gangadharan, Managing Director of SAP Labs India, emphasized the campus’s role in fostering collaboration. “This is the beating heart of co-innovation,” she said, noting that the facility will bring together customers, partners, startups, and academia to drive innovation.
SAP joins a growing list of major tech companies expanding in India. Bengaluru, now the world’s fourth-largest tech cluster, is increasingly becoming a hub for Research & Development centers and Global Capability Centers (GCCs). Earlier this year, Google opened a new campus in Bengaluru, while Microsoft is building its largest R&D center in Noida.
