Vivo has recently released two new smartphones in India, the affordable mid-ranger Y400 5G and the expensive premium priced V60 5G, let’s see how the two compare.
The Vivo Y400 5G, is priced at ₹21,999 for 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The 256GB variant is priced at ₹23,999. The Y400 5G is available in two colours, Glam White and Olive Green. Retail sales begun on August 7, 2025, through Vivo’s e-store, Flipkart, Amazon and offline stores.
The Vivo V60 5G, is much higher priced at ₹36,999 for 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Available in 8GB and 256GB for ₹38,999, 12GB and 256GB for ₹40,999 and 12GB and 512GB for ₹45,999. The V60 5G is available in Mist Gray, Moonlit Blue, and Auspicious Gold and took pre bookings starting August 13, 2025 to retail sales from August 19 through the same sales platforms.
The Y400 5G has a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 1800 nits peak brightness and 120Hz refresh rate. The V60 5G has a bit of a larger 6.77-inch quad-curved AMOLED display with 5000 nits and 120Hz refresh rate.
Both phones have an IP68 and IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, the Y400 5G is resistant to 1.5 meters of water for thirty minutes and the V60 5G can resist 1.5 meters for eighty minutes. The Y400 5G weighs 197g and has a thickness of 7.9mm, while the V60 5G weighs in at 190g and is a slimmer 7.53mm.
The Y400 5G utilizes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. It fulfills basic needs for performance and provides up to 8GB RAM. It has available storage options up to 256GB.
The V60 5G utilizes the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. It provides solid performance from the basic RAM options (8GB, 12GB, or 16GB). Plus it has storage options up to 512GB.
Both smartphones operate on Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15. The V60 5G also provides four full years of Android updates, and it also has six years of security updates. The Y400 5G does not currently have update confirmation, however the company claims, they have offered a reliable 50 months of user experience.
The Y400 5G has a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP Sony IMX852 main sensor, a 2MP bokeh lens and a 32MP front camera. The V60 5G has a ZEISS-branded setup consisting of a triple rear camera setup of a 50MP main with OIS, 50MP telephoto and an 8MP ultra-wide, alongside a 50MP front camera. The V60 5G ultimately offers the most versatility for those into photography content.
The Y400 5G has a 6000mAh battery and 90W fast charging, which is fast enough to get to 50% battery in 20 minutes. The V60 5G even packs a larger 6500mAh battery and also 90W charging. Both devices will give you long-lasting power, but if you’re a heavy user, the V60 5G has an advantage with its bigger battery.
Activity on a budget? The Y400 5G is a solid option that can handle most daily activities without breaking the bank. Simply pay more for the V60 5G and you will enjoy some premium features, better cameras, and longer support.
