WhatsApp New Feature:
WhatsApp, one of the world’s most used messaging apps, is now working on a new feature to control spam messages. The platform aims to make chatting safer and more personal for its users by adding a monthly limit on messages sent to unknown numbers. This feature is currently under testing and is expected to roll out soon.
As per the early testing model, if a user sends three messages to someone outside their contact list and doesn’t get a reply, three messages will be deducted from their monthly limit. However, WhatsApp has not yet revealed what the total monthly limit will be. When a user reaches this limit, WhatsApp will send them a warning message. If they continue, their ability to send messages to new numbers may be temporarily stopped.
The good news is that this new rule does not affect chats with friends, family, or people already saved in the user’s contact list. WhatsApp made it clear that this update is mainly designed to reduce spam, scams, and promotional messages that disturb users.
Over the years, WhatsApp has grown beyond a simple chat app. It is now a big platform used by businesses, communities, and customer support services. However, this expansion has also led to a sharp rise in spam and unwanted promotions. With over 500 million users in India alone, this new feature could make a big difference in keeping the app clean and safe.
For business accounts, this move means they must focus on meaningful communication rather than bulk messaging. While this update may not completely eliminate spam, it is a strong step toward making WhatsApp a platform for genuine and personal conversations once again.
In short, WhatsApp’s new feature aims to give users more control and peace of mind — making sure that their inbox remains a space for real and useful communication.
