Jr. NTR fans celebrate 23 Years of Aadi
With RRR and Devara, Jr. NTR has become a known figure all across the globe today. But his rise began 23 years ago when his second film Aadi became a blockbuster hit. Released on 28 March 2002, it ran for 100 days in 96 direct centers. The film brought a mass image to NTR and cemented his place in the Telugu Film Industry. As Jr. NTR fans celebrate 23 years of Aadi, let us revisit the film again.
The film revolves around the power feuds in Rayalaseema. With grippy narration and intense action sequences, the film succeeded in entertaining the audience.
Besides Jr. NTR, the movie has Keerthi Chawla, Ahuti Prasad, Rajan P Dev, Chalapathi Rao, Ali, LB Sriram, and others in pivotal roles. With college and fun in the first half and a faction backdrop during the second half, the film is an out-and-out action entertainer. NTR was just 18 when he did Aadi. Be it his performance, dialogue delivery, dance, or fights, he excelled in every category.
Aadi is VV Vinayak’s first directorial. The film’s producer Bellamkonda Suresh observed the spark in Vinayak when he was an assistant director. Along with direction, Vinayak provided the story and screenplay. Because of Aadi success, he fortified his place as one of the top directors in the industry alongside SS Rajamouli, Puri Jagan, and Trivikram Srinivas.
Aadi won four Nandi awards. It brought Vinayak the Nandi Award for Best First Film of a Director. Chandrabose grabbed Best Lyricist, and Gowtham Raju won Best Editor. In addition to that, NTR won a special jury award for his terrific performance.
NTR endured an injury while shooting an action sequence but still preferred to shoot songs. His commitment to his craft was well appreciated.
One of the highlights of the movie is Manisharma’s music. All songs received good appreciation and became chartbusters. The background music elevated the film’s mood and transported the audience to a different world.
