Rajeev Kanakala names Rajamouli ‘Jakkanna’

Rajamouli and Rajeev Kanakala are good friends. Their acquaintance, which was established through the serial ‘Shanti Niwasam’, continues. Rajeev Kanakala has played good roles in Rajamouli’s films like ‘Student No. 1’, ‘Sai’, ‘Vikramarkudu’, ‘Yamadonga’ and others. He also acted in a guest role in ‘RRR’. Kanakala himself once told the reason for naming Rajamouli ‘Jakkanna’.

“I have acted in many of Rajamouli’s films. If the shoot for my scene starts at six o’clock, it doesn’t start until 10 o’clock. Because they are already shooting scenes with other actors. They shoot a single scene in all sorts of ways. Once I had to do a scene with half a page of dialogues. I thought it would be finished quickly, but it was finished at 12:30 midnight”, Rajeev Kanakala recalled that time.

Koduri Srisaila Sri Rajamouli alias SS Rajamouli was born in 1973 to Telugu film scriptwriter Vijayendra Prasad and Rajanandini in Amareswari Camp in Raichur district of Karnataka. His hometown is Kovvur in the united West Godavari district, so he spent his entire education in Kovvur, Eluru, and Visakhapatnam. Rajamouli, who directed the TV serial ‘Shanti Niwasam’ under the guidance of director K. Raghavendra Rao, later made the movie Student No. 1 with Jr. NTR. After that, Rajamouli took Telugu cinema to the world level with the films Simhadri, Sai, Chhatrapati, Vikramarkudu, Yamadonga, Magadheera, Maryada Ramanna, Eega, Baahubali, Baahubali 2, RRR. Currently, he is making an adventure movie with superstar Mahesh Babu which is yet to be titled.
