Now in top-time with the unprecedented success of “Thandel”, Naga Chaitanya is breaking new ground by widening his scope from Tollywood to pan-India. His upcoming film with the working title “NC24” is making mammoth waves among audiences and critics alike. This mythological thriller witnesses a new mix of action, mythology and fantasy, a maiden effort in his glorious career. Is NC24 a pan-India jump to break or make Naga Chaitanya?
With “NC24”, Naga Chaitanya scales new heights, with the possibility of presenting a cinematic experience. That is both mythological grandeur and contemporary storytelling.
A masterful mix of action, fantasy and mythology
Produced by BVSN Prasad and directed by Karthik Dandu, “NC24” is designed to enthrall the audience with its big picture. Production sources indicate that the movie has “large canvas and some dynamic effects”, so there is a thrill in every frame and it’s full of narrative. The movie is good vs. Examines the idea of evil.
A big story scripted in cultural and historical context
The tale of “NC24” has its roots in Indian history. It is a tale of an unlikely group of three characters – an archaeologist, a treasure hunter and a student of history. Who band together to combat a royal lineage and an implicit prophecy of a coming apocalypse. The tale is replete with allusions from the dark ages and the Kali Yuga period, so the viewer is part of a process that enlightens and amuses.
Speaking about his participation in the movie, Naga Chaitanya was effusive in his praise, going on to say, “This film is very special. It is a film that is grounded in our own rich heritage and transports the audience to another world. I am thrilled to be a part of something very special and high-end.” While he has so far declined to comment on it further, the anticipation is palpable and has only gone to heighten the stakes around the project.
Diversification beyond the movie industry
Apart from “NC24”, Chaitanya is said to be making his web series comeback with the success of “Dhootha”. Chaitanya is said to be collaborating with writer-director Deva Katta on a series titled “Mayasabha”. This goes on floors in the second half of 2025 in the first season with a duration of 400 minutes.
