Is Prabhas Disappointed with The Raja Saab Response?

The Raja Saab Response: Prabhas released the trailer for his highly anticipated horror-comedy The Raja Saab on June 16, 2025, but the buzz it’s generating isn’t what he expected. Fans and critics are slamming the trailer with harsh criticism, and reports say the backlash has left Prabhas feeling disheartened. Director Maruthi and producer TG Vishwa Prasad pitched the film as a fresh take on the horror-comedy genre, but the audience response tells a different story.

Unrealistic VFX & Visuals:

Critics are flooding social media platforms, especially X, with harsh comments. Viewers are slamming the visuals and VFX, calling them “outdated” and “cringeworthy.” One user mocked the CGI, saying, “It looks like it’s from Adipurush’s reject pile!” Others compared the effects to horror shows from the early 2000s. Many found the extravagant color grading dull and uninspired, while the ghosts failed to deliver the chills expected from a Prabhas film. Fans who anticipated a visual spectacle now feel confused and disappointed, questioning why producer TG Vishwa Prasad claimed to have spent 300 days on visual effects.

Audience Response:

The story’s simplicity has drawn criticism. The teaser presents a simple, predictable plot that, according to many viewers, doesn’t live up to Prabhas’ legendary image. Audiences expected a genre-defying narrative, but critics claim the writing rehashes old clichés. One user on X even called it “a total cringefest” that lacks originality. Many believe director Maruthi and the producers are using Prabhas’ stardom to mask a dull creative vision and relying solely on his fame to drive interest. A disappointed fan voiced frustration on X, saying, “Prabhas deserves better than this,” echoing the sentiment that the film wastes his potential.

Sources close to Prabhas say the response has deeply affected him. He feels devastated, especially by harsh comments on his “expressionless” acting and “flat comic timing.” These reactions have stung more because he poured his heart into this unconventional role. While some Telugu fans appreciated his “vintage” charm, the broader Indian audience remains unimpressed and predicts the film might struggle at the box office. Prabhas still hopes the final cut will win over critics when The Raja Saab hits theaters on December 5, 2025. However, the teaser’s negative buzz has already cast a shadow over his ambitious return to comedy.
