Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari(JVAS) starring Chiranjeevi and SrideviOn released on May 9, 1990. Directed by K Raghavendra Rao, the Telugu fantasy film, also known as JVAS, was a huge hit. Today, May 9, 2025, the film was re-released in theaters to commemorate its 35th anniversary.

Chiranjeevi stated his wish for a possible follow-up to his movie in an interview with Vyjayanthi Network. Additionally, he expressed his desire to see Janhvi Kapoor and Ram Charan in the key roles. During the interview, the film’s director, K Raghavandra Rao, and producer, Aswani Dutt, were also in attendance. Additionally, Chiranjeevi mentioned how much he misses Sridevi.

Chiranjeevi Comments:

“This time, I really miss Sridevi,” Chiranjeevi remarked. JVAS (Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari) was centered around her. Her persona was like a dream. We had never worked together before, and we had a very unique chemistry.

“At first, I wasn’t in favor of a sequel,” he continued. However, I would really like to see Nag Ashwin helm it today, with Janhvi Kapoor and Ram Charan playing the key roles. It might be a dream project for both actors because the plot would be closely related to the original. Veteran Amrish Puri played the antagonist in the movie, and the renowned Ilayaraaja provided the music.

Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari was the highest-grossing Telugu movie at the time of its release, marking a significant milestone. Regarding Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, they will star together for the first time in Peddi, formerly known as RC16. On March 27, 2026, the movie will be released in theaters.
