Comedian turned director Venu Yeldandi impressed audiences with his debut film Balagam. It is a heartwarming drama set in Telangana. Now he is preparing for his second directorial project. It is tentatively titled Yellamma. Actor Nithiin has been confirmed to play the lead role and the movie’s pre production is currently in progress. The film will be produced by Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations with filming scheduled to begin in May.

Initially actress Sai Pallavi was considered for the female lead in Yellamma. But due to her prior commitments to a Bollywood project that required extended dates, she opted out of the film. The makers approached National Award winning actress Keerthy Suresh following Sai Pallavi exit. Reports suggest she has almost finalized her role. This will mark Keerthy’s second collaboration with Nithiin after their successful pairing in Rang De.

Yellamma will present Keerthy Suresh in a completely deglamorized role. The actress who is known for her versatile performances has been eager to sign an intriguing Telugu project.

Renowned music duo Ajay and Atul will compose the soundtrack for the film. With an experienced production house like Sri Venkateswara Creations backing the project, expectations are already high.

Meanwhile Nithiin is gearing up for the promotions of his upcoming releases Robinhood and Thammudu. He will shift his focus to Yellamma after wrapping up these projects.

Robinhood is an upcoming Indian Telugu language heist action comedy film that will hit the screens on March 28. The film is written and directed by Venky Kudumula and it is produced by Mythri Movie Makers. The film stars Nithiin and Sreeleela in the lead role alongside Shine Tom Chacko, Vennela Kishore and Rajendra Prasad. The music is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar while the cinematography and editing was handled by Sai Sriram and Koti.
