Kingdom Closing Collections: Kingdom starring Vijay Deverakonda and Bhagya Sree Borse, was one of the highly anticipated films of 2025. Directed by Gautam Tinnanuri, the movie was released worldwide on July 31, 2025, under the banners of Sithara Entertainment and Fortune Four Creations. The film also featured a strong supporting cast, including Satyadev, Venkatesh VP, Ayyappa Sharma, and others. Despite high expectations from the movie, especially following Vijay’s recent setbacks with films like Liger and Khushi, did Kingdom manage to recover its massive budget and generate profits?
With a budget of ₹130 crore, Kingdom had to perform well to meet its break-even target. The film’s pre-release business details reveal that the total theatrical business across regions was around ₹54.5 crore. The movie’s target was to earn a worldwide share of ₹56 crore to cover its costs. The film was released across 2850 screens globally, contributing to expectations of high earnings.
Box Office Collections: A Mixed Response
In its opening 13 days, Kingdom made an impressive ₹64 crore in net collections and ₹80 crore in gross revenue in India alone. However, as the days passed, the earnings started dipping, particularly on weekdays. The movie made ₹32 crore in Telugu states and ₹12 crore overseas, taking the worldwide total gross to ₹108 crore by the 13th day. Despite this, the film faced stiff competition from other releases like HariHara Veera Mallu and Mahavatar Narasimha.
Profit or Loss: The Final Verdict
The movie managed to recover about 80% of its budget in the first two weeks. However, it fell short of reaching the break-even point. With ₹52 crore worldwide share against a ₹56 crore target, Kingdom faced a loss of about ₹4 crore. Despite these challenges, producers are hopeful that the movie will generate more revenue through OTT rights, satellite sales, and music royalties.
