Mohan Babu University Audit: Audit and financial reviews are ordered at Mohan Babu University (MB University), a new university in Tirupati, by the Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) for what seems to be a buildup of suspected financial irregularities and misuse of funds. There were reports that delegations have gone to debate and scrutiny for an expenditure of ₹26.17 crores, and there have been notifications sent from APSCHE to initiate a formal review.
The authorities have assured the audit and review of financial transactions by special team audits by affirming that funding integrity in higher education institutions is a developmental and administrative expense. It will, however, concentrate public funding and university finance in a way that uses public funds to manage the expenditure of funds transparently.
The auditing function under ACAP is under the responsibility of the administration of Sri Venkateswara University (SVU). The SVU officials will then collaborate with hired auditors to authenticate the details of the accounts and bring the findings forward to APSCHE. Furthermore, the university officials will ensure total cooperation and accessibility to all relevant documents.
The full report on audit results must also be submitted to APSCHE. Meaning there might be further action on discrepancies found. The council reiterated its commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability. And governing practices that reflect good governance in all state universities and affiliated institutions.
