In 2015, Yevade Subramanyam made its big-screen debut. Subramanyam, a materialistic IIM graduate seeking corporate success, is at the center of the narrative. His life changes when his free-spirited boyhood friend Rishi convinces him to travel to Doodh Kasi, where he is engaged to his boss’s daughter.
When Rishi passes away, tragedy occurs, and Subbu and Anandi embark on a transformative journey to grant the deceased’s final desire. He discovers true meaning in life, loves love, and lets go of his materialistic outlook along the journey. Then he returns changed, calls off his engagement, and returns a business that he wrongfully bought. He then suggests starting a new life with Anandi, which serves as the film’s central plot point.
Nani plays Subramanyam “Subbu” in the movie, and Malavika Nair plays Anandi “Nandi.”Ritu Varma plays Riya, and Vijay Deverakonda plays Rishi, Subbu’s boyhood friend. The roles of Ramayya and Pasupathi are played by veteran actors Krishnam Raju and Nassar, respectively. However, Sowcar Janaki portrays Susheela, while actor Rajesh Vivek plays their guide, Pemba.
Priyanka and Swapna Dutt produced Yevade Subramanyam, which Nag Ashwin directed and wrote. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao was in charge of editing, while Rakesh Erukulla and Naveen Yadav handled cinematography. Radhan composed the music, and Ilaiyaraaja contributed one song.
