No Theatrical Release for Samantha in 2 Years: Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the fancied name in South Indian film industry, has been missing from the screen since the last theatrical release, Kushi (2023), alongside hit actor Vijay Deverakonda. Her two-year absence from the cinema world was to regain health after being diagnosed with myositis. During this period, Samantha was busy exploring web series, production, and wellness, while fans were eagerly waiting for her return to the grandness of theatres.
The wait now comes to an end with Maa Inti Bangaram, a female-oriented Telugu crime thriller directed by Nandini Reddy. Where Samantha not only plays the lead role but is also co-producing it under her own banner Tralala Moving Pictures. The film portrays her as a seeming traditional village belle hiding a fierce and dangerous side.
The first-look poster already created buzz, showing Samantha wielding a gun while surrounded by very unusual elements, i.e. a teddy bear, a pressure cooker, and blood stains – indicative of domestic suspense and chaos. That is the bold choice that marks her return as a full-on theatrical lead after almost two years.
Samantha also has Subham (2025) in her producing portfolio, a horror-comedy film wherein she has a cameo. The film was released earlier this year, marking Samantha’s debut as a producer. She was seen in Amazon Prime Video Original series Citadel Honey Bunny. T With this, she is also set to have a reunion with Nandini Reddy in an untitled Telugu social drama currently under pre-production.

On OTT, Samantha’s will be seen in Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom, a web series set to launch in 2026 with Aditya Roy Kapur and Ali Fazal. Thus, this would showcase both theatrical and streaming projects to broaden her creative horizon.
This will be a comeback for Samantha, just more than that; a return into reinvention- actress to producer. And wellness advocate as a pan-India star- to the exciting new chapter of her career. With the campaign led by Maa Inti Bangaram, Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s return is set to be powerful and genre-defying.
