Prabhas reportedly joining India’s most celebrated cinematic franchises , Lokesh Cinematic Universe- LCU and Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe- PVCU as he signed with Lokesh Kanagaraj and Prasanth Varma.
Rebel Star Prabhas ,who graced Indian box office with blockbuster hit films like Salaar : Cease Fire and Kalki : Part 1 2898 AD breaking many records and is set to rock 2025 box office with his much anticipated horror thriller The Raja Saab . Now a source revealed that Prabhas likely to join hands with the south india’s most celebrated directors Lokesh Kanagaraj and Prasanth Varma.
The rise of franchises in Indian cinema is a reflection of the Hollywood model, where franchises are a major part of the box office. In India Lokesh Cinematic Universe ( LCU ) and Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU) are the most successful franchises in recent times and have been generating significant buzz with their projects and announcements since their inception. Actor is already busy in filming two franchises film like Kalki cinematic universe and Salaar franchise , now set to join two franchises, LCU and PVCU.
Lokesh Kanagaraj’s LCU began with 2019 action thriller Kaithi starring, and expanded further with films like Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan, Leo, starring Thalapathy Vijay . He recently announced sequels like kaithi 2 , Vikram 2 , standalone film Rolex with Suriya and 10 minutes short film LCU: Chapter 0. Now rumors suggest that he approached Rebel Star for a standalone film from LCU and got a green signal from the actor.

While Prasanth Varma launched his PVCU with 2024 mythology superhero film HanuMan, which received positive reviews for direction, screenplay, the cast’s performances, the portrayal of Hanuman, background score, visual effects, production design, and action sequences. The film broke several box-office records, grossing over Rs 350 crores worldwide, Post film’s enormous critical and commercial success, he announced sequels and prequels.
He recently released second installment film Jai Hanuma’s first poster. It stars Rishab Shetty in the lead as Lord Hanuman and Teja Sajja, who reprises his role of Hanumanthu. It is part of the PVCU and is expected to release sometime in 2026.
Darling’s upcoming horror thriller The Raja Saab is directed by Maruthi and is now set for a grand theatrical worldwide debut on April 10, 2025 and the expectations are high on the same.
