Chi La Sow Sequel Story: Actor-turned-director Rahul Ravindran maintains the sensibility of a true storyteller. Chi La Sow is an example of his expertise of profundity, as at least half the audience believed it would ultimately end in his loving embrace in a surreal forest setting with a faithful blue dog at this end Giovanni C. The film was an acclaimed romantic drama in 2018. During the promotion of his latest film, The Girlfriend with Rashmika Mandanna, when asked about the lives of beloved couples from Chi La Sow-Arjun and Anjali, the filmmaker smiled, saying, “They’re happily married now and probably have a couple of kids.” About the question of the sequel, he surprised everyone with a story he once imagined but never really bothered to build.
Rahul described an emotionally heavy narrative that went through the themes of marriage’s fragility and temptation. In his imagination, relationship problems began festering between Arjun and Anjali years after marriage. Seeking clarity on matters, Arjun retreats to a vacation alone and meets another lady. Their connection blossoms, but Arjun keeps his honesty about being married and the problems he faces with Anjali.
Tension peaks further when Arjun almost kisses the lady; but stops, proclaiming that he cannot betray his wife. That’s when the woman turns into a spirit and states that she was a ghost of a lady who died after being betrayed by her husband. From the day of her death, she had been exacting revenge on unfaithful men; but Arjun is the first who fights temptation.
The story ended with Arjun coming back to Anjali, admitting to both their faults, and promising that they would try to mend their marriage with love and honesty.
Rahul stated that, while he thoroughly enjoyed the story’s emotional core, he did not intend to make the film as a sequel to Chi La Sow. He revealed it publicly so that he could let go of the idea, free of expectations.

This idea was built on emotionality, morality, and supernatural; such is Rahul’s creative depth even in stories he chooses not to tell. For now, fans can only dream of what that hauntingly beautiful story of Chi La Sow 2 would have been.
