Ram Charan Praises Game Changer Director Shankar. Long before Game Changer, Ram Charan and filmmaker Shankar had a relationship. It actually began long before he was an actor. It should be noted that the official remake of Shankar’s first Hindi film, Gentleman, was the last Hindi film starring Ram Charan’s father, the renowned actor Chiranjeevi. And thirty years later, Ram Charan is starring in a Shankar movie. The actor lavished accolades on the talented director at a recent promotional event in Dallas, USA. “I still can’t believe I am sitting next to Shankar garu, and I am the hero in his film. It feels surreal,” said the actor.
Ram Charan reminisced about his past encounters with Shankar and how he was really nervous to speak to him at all. He also expressed his joy at the development of their connection during the filming of Game Changer. “These three years was a journey. I didn’t feel like going to a movie set. It is a new beginning. I have learnt so much. Shankar garu is the king of directors. He is to Indian cinema what Sachin Tendulkar was to cricket,” said Ram Charan, adding, “He is the No 1 global director. The No 1 commercial director, and I am very lucky to have worked with him, and I will forever be thankful to God, and my parents.”
Ram assured that Game Changer definitely impresses his fans and Shankar’s fans. “This will be the best experience for any Shankar garu fan. Right from the time you enter the theatre, you will be entertained. It is one of his best films,” said Charan.
He further spoke about his co-star SJ Surya. He said, “The combination scenes between Surya garu and me would lift the film to a different scale. These are scenes I’ve never acted in or even seen before. Also, my character of Appanna, who comes in the flashback is a very novel character with very high morals. Anjali garu plays Appanna’s wife in the flashback, and it is one of the best looks of her career, and her onscreen presence is so good.”
