Ram Gopal Varma condemns Allu Arjun’s arrest, questions TG police authorities

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma strongly condemn Telangan Police for their the decision to file criminal charges against Allu Arjun and arrest him, calling the move unacceptable.


Icon Star Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13, 2024, in connection with a deadly stampede that occurred during the Pushpa 2 : The Rule premiere on December 4 at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. The deadly stampede resulted in the death of a 39-year-old woman, Revathi, and left her 13-year-old son, Sri Tej, in critical condition.

Ram Gopal Varma took to his Twitter account and questioned Telangana Government regarding Allu Arjun’s arrest. He wrote,” @alluarjun, My 4 questions to the relevant authorities about the case.1.Will the gods be arrested if devotees get into a fight during festivals like Pushkara and Brahmostava? 2.Will politicians be arrested if someone gets caught in the stampede of election campaigns? 3.Will the hero and heroine be arrested if someone goes to the pre-release functions?4.How can the police, the organizers, let alone film heroes and public leaders, control the security arrangements?

Now Telangana High Court has granted interim bail to actor Allu Arjun, who was previously arrested and remanded to 14 days of judicial custody following the tragic death of a woman in a stampede at Sandhya Theatre, Hyderabad, during the premiere of Pushpa 2. The tragic incident occurred at Sandhya Theater on December 4 had raised many serious concerns over crowd control at high-profile events.The Telangana High court’s decision to grant interim bail comes as authorities continue to probe the incident.

Ram Gopal Varma earlier supported Allu Arjun and expressed his thoughts on the blockbuster success of action sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule and praised how a non-Hindi speaking actor has emerged as a pan-Indian star. He remarked that, following the film’s success, the term pan India has now evolved into Telugu India.
Allu Arjun’s action sequel had earned more than Rs 1000 crores with in just seven days and still running successfully in the theaters worldwide.
