Telugu actress Vijayalakshmi, also known as Rambha, who has entertained audiences with her beauty for nearly 20 years, is preparing to make a comeback in the film industry. She recently served as a judge on a TV show and is eagerly anticipating her return to the silver screen. Rambha, a Telugu actress, made her debut on the silver screen with the film ‘Aa Okkati Adakku.’ Her real name is Vijayalakshmi, and she was born in 1976. Rambha entered the film industry at the young age of 16. During the casting process for ‘Aa Okkati Adakku,’ directed by EVV Satyanarayana and featuring Rajendra Prasad, Vijayalakshmi caught the director’s eye. Consequently, she changed her name to Rambha and began her acting career in her teens.
After achieving significant success with her first film, she continued to thrive in the industry. Rambha has acted alongside top actors such as Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Rajinikanth, and Vijay, impressing audiences with her performances. Throughout her career, she has appeared in over a hundred films across various languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. Also she has featured in special songs in films such as ‘Bhairava Dweepam,’ ‘Hello Brother,’ and ‘Deshamuduru.’
Rambha gave Tollywood a boost in the 90s with super hit films like Hitler, Alluda Majaka, Bhairava Dweepam, and Bavagaru Bagunnaraa. When her film opportunities were dwindling, she married a businessman named Indra Kumar, who had settled in Canada, in 2010 and settled there. They have two daughters and a son. Rambha, who has been away from the film industry for a long time, is now preparing for her re-entry. In this context, she is making waves as a judge on a TV show. In a recent interview, she shared her personal matters and thoughts about her re-entry into films.
“After marriage, I was completely confined to my family. We have three children. After two girls, a boy was born. Now he is six years old. All the children have come to a point where they can do their own things. My husband felt that even though I was living a full family life, I did not lose interest in films. That is why when I said that I would act again, he supported me by saying, ‘It is your choice.’ Recently, I acted as a judge in a dance show. I was a little scared to come in front of the camera after a long time.
After seeing the admiration I received in that show, my desire to act in films became even stronger. Many of the heroes and heroines who acted with me are still continuing their careers. I am also preparing for a re-entry, inspired by them. Currently, I have some offers. I will soon reveal which films I will act in,” said Rambha.
